Materiał został zarejestrowany w Carriage House w Stamford pod czujnym okiem Jaya Newlanda i Briana Bacchusa.

Scofield to jeden z najbardziej charakterystycznych i wszechstronnych współczesnych gitarzystów jazzowych. Jego olbrzymie, 40-letnie doświadczenie sprawia, że artysta potrafi swobodnie odnaleźć się w tak różnych stylach jak fusion, funk, blues, bebop, country, drum-n-bass oraz pop, nie tracąc przy tym nic ze swojego unikalnego brzmienia. Podczas swojej oszałamiającej kariery, Scofield stał na czele wielu zespołów, nagrywając jako lider ponad trzy tuziny albumów. Gitarzysta występował też u boku legendarnych jazzmanów, takich jak Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Chet Baker, George Duke, Joe Henderson, Billy Cobham, czy Herbie Hancock.

Aside from being one of the principal innovators of modern jazz guitar, JOHN SCOFIELD is a creative artist of an even rarer sort: a stylistic chameleon who has forged a consistent, rock-solid aesthetic identity. An artist with fan bases in many camps and 40 plus recordings to his credit, he has expressed himself in the vernacular of bebop, blues, jazz-funk, organ jazz, acoustic chamber jazz, electronically tinged groove music, jam band style and orchestral ensembles with ease and enthusiasm. With multiple Grammy nominations and named an Officier dans L’Ordre des Arts and Lettres by France, Scofield tours the world approximately 200 days per year with his own groups.

2016 will draw him into yet another conceptual territory, bringing his lifelong love of American Country music out of his toolbox to share with his jazz audiences in his “Country For Old Men” project, Scofield approaches classic country melodies, performing with several of his closest musical associates from the Jazz community – Steve Swallow, Bill Stewart and Larry Goldings. In Scofield’s words, “We’re going to turn 'outlaw' country tunes into Jazz vehicles. Rather than go to Nashville and record with 'real' country players in a country style, I’m joining forces with my jazz cronies to play the songs with our jazz approach. We improvise while keeping the integrity, character and twang of this wonderful American music. I’ve always loved Country music and am super excited to put my treatment of them into play.” Sco and company will sculpt jazz renditions of classic tunes by George Jones, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Bob Wills, Patti Page and even Shania Twain to name a few!

The summer 2016 will also find Scofield in an unusual trio project with Brad Mehldau and drummer Mark Guiliana. Look for him on bass as well as guitar!
