Na niniejszy box złożyły się dwa dokumentalne filmy Laurence'a Petit-Jouvet'a. Pierwszy z nich - 'Off The Road' - powstał podczas ostatniej trasy koncertowej w stanach Zjednoczonych w 2000 roku - to, jak pisze reżyser, 'improwizowane kino drogi'. Drugi film to niezwykłe świadectwo pobytu Petera Kowalda w Chicago w tym samym roku i jego koncertów w Empty Bottle. Zawiera obszerne fragmenty koncertów z Florianem Floridisem, Gunterem Sommerem, Fredem Andersonem i Hamidem Drake'iem oraz rejestrację ze studyjnej sesji Petera Kowalda z Kenem Vandermarkiem (taśmy z tej sesji zaginęły). Wszystko to jest poszerzone o wywiady z bohaterami filmu. The German bassist Peter Kowald (1944-2002) was one of the major figures of Free Improvised Music. The film OFF THE ROAD was made on and around his extended tour of the USA in 2000. A journey around America in an old Chevrolet Caprice, the film is a "free improvised road movie" featuring encounters with many of the great names of Free Music, set against the background of "Off The Road" America.
