Czwórka Duńczyków z Efterklang, którzy słyną z genialnych koncertów na całym świecie mają sporą konkurencję w postaci zespołu Sky Architects, no bo Wyobraźcie sobie połączenie Sigur Rós, Flaming Lips i Arcade Fire, dodajcie jeszcze tę duńską swobodę gatunkową a otrzymacie w przybliżeniu to co do współczesnej indie-popowej muzyki wnosi Sky Architects.

Editor's info:
The self-proclaimed Doom-Pop band Sky Architects, will release their debut album “The Promise of Tomorrow” the 5th of May in Europe and in certain parts of Japan and America.

With their debut album ”The Promise of Tomorrow”, Sky Architects firmly manifest their self declared Doom-Pop universe. This sound could be heard on their last EP “The Reflection”, but the upcoming album manages to both evolve upon and strongly manifest the bands sonic sphere.

The essence of the band’s sound still lies within a love for the huge metallic riffs, the atmospheric post-rock guitars and the catchy melodies found in good pop music, but “The Promise of Tomorrow” reveals, more than anything, four guys love of music instead of a love for one specific genre.

The goal has been to create music that is fun to play and listen to, and Sky Architects debut album is therefore designed to take the listener on a journey through everything from ambient noises, dubstep electronics, fast rock riffs, melancholic ballads and epic progressive movements without ever compromising with the band’s sound.

thesirenssound.com, 10 Out Of 10:
Usually I get utterly excited about every post-rock discoveries especially if it’s a band that I don’t know of or if it’s an album that is yet to be released. However the new title by [ Sky Architect ] is more than just an excitement, it’s an adrenalin rush in the mind to announce their up-coming album [ The Promise Of Tomorrow ].

Like [ The Reflection ] the band has an ultimate instrumental approach in each track that also leads to vocals and lyrics combining a serene but noisy atmosphere with deep emotion, power, and intensity. “Fade Out” The second track on [ The Promise Of Tomorrow ] is almost like hearing “Luckmore Drive” on “0.008% EP” by [ A Genuine Freakshow ] where you have this strong feeling that you are about to embark on a entirely instrumental journey but to your surprise lyrics and vocals kicks in after 5mins.

The only difference to quote from [ A Genuine Freakshow ] or shall I say artist like [ A Genuine Freakshow ], [ Sky Architect ] tends to keep away from the traditional slow and calm sound progression to colossal walls of noise. On some of the track they simply nail it right from the start. Take “The Dark Wave” for instance… The fourtet kick it off with solid noise, guitars, and effects-laden waves with almost no spaces to breathe till the track reaches its 2min30sec mark. But that doesn’t go to say it’s not good. On the contrary, it’s brilliant as it gives you the sense of an instant satisfaction and huge quench for noise.

“We Will Never Forget This”, which by the way, is my favourite track on [ The Promise Of Tomorrow ] the one that creates an atmosphere that is filled with an airy sort of untangled beauty and its moderate hush blends an enchanting comfort, displaying a much more minimal facet of the band. But that in mind, a few minutes in [ Sky Architect ] rips the veil that separates ambience and post-rock with a raw but yet refined aggressive, and abrasive eruption in sound.

“All Free Must Fly” forms a pre-conception of [ Sky Architect ]. The track carries small moments but profound ones where gentle vocals can be pictured in high definition and sublime clarities. In a nutshell, [ The Promise Of Tomorrow ] truly delivers a graceful ambiance and atmospheric built. Each track differs to each other and leaves no determination of what to come next. This un-expectation of what would the next track sound like is precisely what makes [ The Promise Of Tomorrow ] such an inexpressible amusement to listen to, but so to say, it’s an act of the band pushing themselves to the limit, and in that trance, finding some long dormant but yet exploding inspiration.
