Można by powiedzieć - kolejne nagranie Mesjasza Handla … Już tyle na rynku wydawniczym jest dostępnych. A jednak ta muzyka kusi! Tylko nie zawsze w danym wykonaniu porywa. Tym razem porwała, zadziało się coś więcej. I to nie dlatego, że Václav Luks ze swoimi zespołami już nas do tego przyzwyczaił. Jego interpretacje nie są szablonowe, a co za tym idzie manieryczne. Co jest niezwykłego w tym nagraniu? Handel napisał to niezwykłe i nietypowe oratorium w 1741 roku. Początkowo nie było chętnie przyjmowane przez publiczność, aby w końcu stać się jednym z najbardziej rozpoznawalnych utworów nie tylko Handla, ale w ogóle muzyki poważnej. W swej strukturze i dramaturgii przypomina operę, nie ma jednak spersonifikowanych postaci. Opowiada o życiu, śmierci i zmartwychwstaniu Jezusa Chrystusa. Wymaga wielkiego zaangażowania wykonawczego pod każdym względem. I to na pewno dzieje się w tym nagraniu. Jednak wyjątkowe jest tu wyczucie czasu, zawieszenia, rozmieszczenia akcentów, plan dynamiczny. To rozmowa muzyków z muzyką Handla i to w tym wyjątkowym oratorium. To wykonanie Mesjasza jest zniewalające.

Handel’s Messiah is already very well-represented on the CD market with dozens of existing recordings and new productions appearing at regular intervals. Yet this is a very special version, carefully crafted, by the Prague-based Collegium Vocale and Collegium 1704 under the baton of Vaclav Luks, founder of the ensemble and one of the most exciting conductors of the Baroque and Classical repertoire. The fine young singers Giulia Semenzato, Benno Schachtner, Krystian Adam, and Krešimir Stražanac join the ensembles for two moving live performances in Prague’s Rudolfinum in March 2018 which Accent is proudly presenting now on CD.
