The complete original album Like Someone in Love, presenting Ella Fitzgerald backed by an orchestra conducted by Frank DeVol. Featuring the inimitable Stan Getz on tenor sax.
Four tracks completing the album's sessions have been added here, as well as a Stan Getz quartet version of the title track recorded the previous year.

By 1957, Ella Fitzgerald was already a star with over twenty years experience as a professional singer. At forty-years old, Ella was reaching the peak of her abilities. In October 1957, she completed the Ellington Songbook. That same year she cut two albums of easy swingers with the Frank DeVol orchestra, Hello Love and Like Someone in Love. Ella and DeVol would record together on many occasions following these three initial sessions. The other albums they collaborated on consist of Ella Sings Sweet Songs for Swingers (recorded on November 28, 1958), Ella Wishes You a Merry Christmas (from July 15-16, 1960), and Hello Dolly (March 3-4, 1964). Most of these albums were conceived and marketed more as pop than as jazz records, and thus included little information about personnel and extremely brief liner notes (as seen on Like Someone in Love). For this reason, the exact personnel and instrumentation of the orchestra conducted by DeVol on Like Someone in Love remains unknown. Ted Nash is probably the alto saxophonist heard here and there playing behind Ella's vocals, and Stan Getz is definitely the tenor saxophonist heard soloing.
