Innymi słowy, ten projekt wykracza daleko poza muzykę. Ale żeby do tego doszło musiałem po nią sięgnąć."

It was in 2001 that Herbie, along with Terence Blanchard and Wayne Shorter, selected Lionel for a place at the Monk Institute, launching his career, and, in 2005, asking him to join his band, of which Lionel has been a fixture for more than 15 years.
Taking many of Herbie’s best-known compositions (including Cantaloupe Island, Watermelon Man and Rock It) as well as lesser-known works, representing the great man’s career from acoustic Blue Note classics to groundbreaking electro-funk,
Loueke has stamped his own personal sound and mark on this great body of work, taking the guitar and adding his trademark body slaps, vocalese and effects pedals to move from intimate expression to symphonic arrangements.
This album is as much a dedication, rooted in the openness and richness that Lionel has absorbed whilst being on the road with Herbie, as a personal tribute to a musician who has changed the face of music.
