Born in Costa Rica, Chavela Vargas (1919-2012) was celebrated for her rendition of Mexican rancheras, and for her contribution to other genres of popular Latin American music. Presented here, for the first time ever on CD, is her complete debut album, Noche Bohemia (Orfeón LP 12-85). As a bonus, this edition also includes her complete second LP, Chavela Vargas con el Cuarteto Lara Foster (RCA Victor MKL-1363), plus her classic rendition of “Toda una vida.”
