Oryginalnie prowadzona przez Joe Cockera i legendarnego klawiszowca oraz lidera zespołu Leona Russella w 1970 roku, trasa Mad Dogs & Englishmen była energetycznym przedsięwzięciem, które zgromadziło ogromny zespół muzyków. We wrześniu 2015 roku Tedeschi Trucks Band prowadzony przez wirtuoza gitary Dereka Trucksa i charyzmatyczną wokalistkę Susan Tedeschi wskrzesił to przełomowe wydarzenie, dodając do niego własną mieszankę southern soul, bluesa i rocka.
Historyczny, gwiazdorski koncert-hołd odbył się podczas festiwalu LOCKN’ w stanie Wirginia, 45 lat po oryginalnej trasie. Tego wieczoru 12-osobowy skład TTB wraz z Russellem zaprosili na scenę członków pierwszego projektu Mad Dogs, takich jak Rita Coolidge, Claudia Lennear i Chris Stainton, a także grono wyjątkowych gości, m.in. Chrisa Robinsona z The Black Crowes, Warrena Haynesa, Andersa Osborne’a i Dave’a Masona. Wielokrotnie na scenie pojawiało się ponad 20 muzyków. Oprócz „Feelin’ Alright” setlista zawierała pamiętne wykonania takich hitów jak „The Weight”, „She Came In Through The Bathroom Window”, „Delta Lady”, „With A Little Help From My Friends” oraz wcześniej wydanego pierwszego singla z albumu „The Letter” z Susan Tedeschi w roli głównej wokalistki
Album Mad Dogs & Englishmen Revisited (LIVE AT LOCKN’) jest muzycznym uzupełnieniem dokumentu Learning to Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen (2021), który opowiada o tej trasie „Mad Dogs and Englishmen” z perspektywy Tedeschi Trucks Band, łącząc materiały archiwalne z nowymi wywiadami oraz nagraniami występów i prób z koncertu-hołdu na festiwalu LOCKN’.
1 sierpnia, Tedeschi Trucks Band wrócił na Red Rocks Amphitheatre na pierwszy z dwóch wyprzedanych koncertów z udziałem Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge (drugi koncert – 2 sierpnia). Oba wydarzenia można obejrzeć w streamie na nugs.net TUTAJ. Zespół kontynuuje trasę Live in ’25 Tour po Ameryce Północnej aż do 25 października (St. Augustine, Floryda), odwiedzając m.in. Bend, Berkeley, Los Angeles (The Greek Theatre), Phoenix, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Bridgeport, Nashville, Raleigh, Charlotte, Richmond i wielu innych, kończąc trasę 25 października w St. Augustine na Florydzie. Wybrane koncerty odbędą się wspólnie z Whiskey Myers oraz Gov’t Mule, a w niektórych miastach gościnnie pojawią się Steve Winwood i Little Feat.
Zespół ogłosił też powrót swojego autorskiego festiwalu Sun, Sand and Soul Beach Weekend w Miramar Beach na Florydzie (23–25 kwietnia 2026). Oprócz TTB (dwukrotni headlinerzy) i Jasona Isbella and the 400 Unit, w line-upie znaleźli się m.in. Taj Mahal & The Phantom Blues Band, The Mavericks oraz Drive-By Truckers.

Tedeschi Trucks Band and Leon Russell’s Mad Dogs & Englishmen Revisited is a vibrant tribute to one of the most iconic live rock collaborations in music history. Originally led by Joe Cocker and the legendary keyboardist and bandleader Leon Russell in 1970, Mad Dogs & Englishmen was a raucous, soulful tour that brought together a massive ensemble of musicians. In September 2015, Tedeschi Trucks Band – helmed by guitar virtuoso Derek Trucks and powerhouse vocalist Susan Tedeschi – revived this landmark event, infusing it with their own blend of Southern soul, blues, and rock.
The historic, star-studded tribute concert took place at the LOCKN’ Festival 45 years after the original tour. That night, TTB’s 12-piece ensemble and Russell welcomed original Mad Dogs members, such as Rita Coolidge, Claudia Lennear, and Chris Stainton, along with a diverse group of special guests including Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Warren Haynes, Anders Osborne, and Dave Mason. The stage often swelled to over 20 musicians, echoing the original tour’s grand, communal spirit.
