Editor's Info
Juliette Gréco, who died on September 23, 2020 at the age of 93, was one of the most emblematic figures of French chanson. As a singer, actress, fashion icon and ambassador of the French "art de vivre", she shaped the entire second half of the 20th century. When she gave a recital in the Berlin Philharmonie in 1966 at the personal invitation of Herbert von Karajan in front of 2,500 rapturous listeners, she was already a living legend. And her brilliant performance only cemented this reputation even further.
Reviews
"The recording was first released in 1966 and is not one of those chanson records that you find in the bargain bins. The reissue makes sense, especially as the new pressing sounds fantastic." (MINT, January 2024)
