Urodzona w Paryżu w rodzinie Syryjczyków Naïssam Jalal szuka połączeń między muzyką arabską, jazzem a różnymi tradycjami Afryki. Od lat jest niezwykle mocno zaangażowana w budowanie mostów między tradycjami i krajami, do czego wykorzystuje siłę muzyki. W młodości spędziła kilka lat w Syrii i Egipcie, studiując muzykę tego regionu.
Wraz z brazylijskim pianistą Leonardem Montaną oraz francuskim kontrabasistą Claude’em Tchamitchianem stworzyła trio, które nosi nazwę Quest Of The Invisible. Sama śpiewa krystalicznym, magnetycznym głosem (częściej są to wyłącznie wokalizy) i gra na klasycznym europejskim flecie i arabskim flecie ney.
Osiem autorskich, wyrazistych kompozycji Naïssam Jalal przesycone jest urokliwą melancholią, leniwie tocząca się narracja łączy porywające harmonie oraz meandrujące melodie, subtelnie łącząc odmienne tradycje.
Dodatkową wartością jest udział legendarnego Hamida Drake'a, który gra tutaj na bębnie obręczowym daf.
Minimalizm, impresjonizm, pustynna zaduma, hipnotyczna bliskowschodnia tradycja… Wszystko to zaklęte jest w ich muzyce. Na "Quest Of The Invisible" czwórce muzyków udaje się nie lada sztuka, bowiem czas zatrzymuje się, zastyga. Tak powstał fascynujący album, który oscyluje między kontemplacją a transem, ciszą i muzyką.

Naïssam Jalal has invited in her trio, the Brazilian pianist Leonardo Montana and the French Armenian double bass player Claude Tchamitchian in search of the Invisible. This music program is at the cross-road of extra-western, traditional mystic musics and modal jazz. The silence has a central place and the rhythm always leads towards trance in a repetitive and hypnotic shape, sometimes the voice comes to help the other instruments to get in touch with the Invisible.
The album won the «Victoires du Jazz 2019», the highest jazz award in France and has received critical and public acclaim since the release.
