Jesus "Chucho" Valdes' album 'Jazz Nocturno'marked a fundamental chapter in the evolution of his career and development as one of Cuba's finest jazz pianists. This rare and hard to find album, which features the great alto sax player Paquito D'Rivera and other notable Cuban musicians, is reissued as a special limited edition of just 500 copies.
The concepts that Chucho brought to bands such as Orquesta Cubana de Musica Moderna and Irakere, have their roots in the band Chucho formed at the beginning of the 1960's. Jazz Nocturno was recorded in the early years of that decade.
