As adventurous as this music sometimes is, the strong lyricism and the attractive sound of the trio (consisting of vibraphonist Khan Jamal, guitarist Pierre Dorge and bassist Johnny Dyani) make the performances fairly accessible. Jamal has long had original styles on vibes and marimba, and he is in top form on four of his songs (including one called "Tjader"), three by Dyani, and Dorge's "Lilli Goes to Town."
