Today Nicolas Gombert (ca 1495-ca 1560) is much less known than other Franco-Flemish composers of the 15th and 16th centuries. The presumed pupil of Josquin Desprez must be counted among the most important representatives of the Franco-Flemish school, if only because of his almost unparalleled contrapuntal artistry.
The vocal ensemble beauty farm once again embarks on a journey of exploration into the motets of this great Renaissance master.
Of course, the third instalment of this exploration also contains some world premiere recordings.
