Recorded on February 26-27, 1986 at Barigozi studio in Milan, Deep Down is the second album by the great Italian pianist, Enrico Pieranunzi, and his trio, comprised of the rhythm-wise Marc Johnson (bass) and Joey Baron (drums). Pieranunzi's deeply rooted affinity for Bill Evans is expanded and developed throughout the album by the acute sensitivity and vibrant interplay of one of the greatest piano trios in contemporary jazz.
