This release includes Little Willie John's second and third albums: Talk To Me and Mister Little Willie John (both of which were recorded in 1958). These LPs offer a solid introduction into this man's special brand of soul balladry, musical feeling, passionate delivery and R&B innovation. He was one of James Brown's primary influences, and Brown would later use a similar approach for his own more orchestrated ballads, such as "Prisoner of Love" and "It's a Man's Man's Man's World". Here you'll find the foot-tapping rhythms, spine-tingling styling and the sentimental mood renderings so typical of his personal appearances.
