All three are leading Norwegian song artists. All three write their own music and lyrics. They grew up under the same roof. Now they sing together on the same record. Kari, Ola and Lars Bremnes are out with the CD Solřye.
Kari, Ola and Lars Bremnes are all well established, independent artists with solid record releases behind them, both individually and together. On this new CD the sister and two brothers split the soloist singing between them, but a distinguishing feature on this CD is just as much their three-voiced singing together, and a band consisting of Anders Engen, Gjermund Silseth, Jarle Bernhoft, Bengt Egil Hanssen and Hĺkon Iversen.
Solřye contains 14 songs and was produced for Kirkelig Kulturverksted by Hĺkon Iversen. Recordings were made in Harstad and at Bremnes, a small village where elder brother Ola now lives, and where the Bremnes family has its paternal roots. All recordings were made during two late summer weeks. The old school house at Bremnes was well suited for recording the vocals, and Harstad Culture House hosted the orchestral recordings.
The CD booklet is amply illustrated with photos from the two musical weeks in Harstad and at Bremnes.
Kari Bremnes
Kari Bremnes has managed to combine artistic and commercial success in a unique way, and has over the last years been one of Norway's foremost recording and stage artists. She is a text writer and a musician and - above all - an exceptionally strong performer.
