Editor's info:
KongSverre (yep you guessed it: King Sverre in Norwegian) aka Sverre Thorstensen began to write and record songs in the early teenages, as he bought a synthesizer and a sequencer for his savings from the job as a organ instructor for housewives in the local "music & photo"-store. Until then there was the nowadays rather unpopular home organ which had been his instrument, in addition to strict education in cornet playing and music theory from the school's brass band. As a sixyear-old he got to hear The Human League's "Don't You Want Me" on a tape released by his football team, a tape cassette released to amongst other things raise funds for Sverre's rather short career as a goal keeper.

The Human League track made an everlasting impression on the young Sverre. After playing keyboards in various bands in the Oslo underground (the only one possibly known abroad is Snuten), he borrowed his friend's photo studio in 2003, well the dark part of it anyway, and put up his synthesizers and started to make what turned out to be his debut CD "NATUR". This album is a true child of bad ventilation, photo chemicals and daily meditations, strongly inspired by Human Leagues early 80's sound. The journalists were confused, and afraid to enjoy this weird record with german, english and Norwegian lyrics. Though ridicolously bad sale, this record has become a "must have" for Norwegian synth-enthusiasts, and was played quite a bit on the radio. Late at night, yes, but anyway.

The following album "Jazzelektro" (300 ex CDr) was released in 2007. It was hard to reach the same cult status as the first record, but all the time sold out from the only store in Oslo that is selling his records.

The album Fugl (Beatservice 2009) is his latest shot at pop stardom. Even for a king, it can be hard to decide, so this album contains both norwegian and english lyrics, pop-songs along with more abstract soundscapes. Still lost in a time machine stuck in 1984.
