The last couple of years, there has been a growing interest towards the Norwegian house scene. Norwegian club culture and Norwegian house producers have been getting more and more attention by both the music press and record companies in UK and Europe. The "Prima Norsk" compilation collects 10 of the best house-tracks released by Norwegian artists on vinyl the last year, on English and Norwegian, small and large labels. Known artists like Illumination (Music Man), Rune Lindbæk (Repap), Motion Control (Beatservice) and Addvibe (Discfunction) are followed by a bunch of new up-and-coming names like Kyd & Kango (Slip'n'Slide, Influendce), Crème Fraîche and Olav Brekke Mathisen. What is all the fuzz about the Norwegian house scene? "Prima Norsk" has all the answers!!

The "Prima Norsk" (means something like "1st class Norwegian", adopted from the slogan on a package of carrots...!!!) was originally a club concept, where the Beatservice label boss Vidar Hanssen is playing a full night of Norwegian only ambient, downtempo, funky beats and house goodies. The "Prima Norsk" compilation collects the best parts from the house part of the DJ set.
