W 2015 "IL FILOSOFO - Franz Joseph Haydn: vol. 2". w 2016 trzecią "SOLO E PENSOSO - Symphonies Nos. 4, 42, 64, Overture L’Isola Disabitata - Franz Joseph Haydn: vol. 3". Teraz otrzymujemy czwartą "Il Distratto - Symphonies Franz Joseph Haydn: vol. 4".

Fundacja Józefa Haydna z siedzibą w Bazylei wraz z wydawnictwem Alpha zamierza do roku 2032, kiedy to przypada 300-tna rocznica urodzin Józefa Haydna, zarejestrować i wydać wszystkie 107 symfonii tego wyjątkowego kompozytora. Ten ambitny plan ma zostać zrealizowany pod baczną uwagą i nadzorem artystycznym genialnego włoskiego dyrygenta - Giovanniego Antoniniego. Grupa z Mediolanu, założona w 1985 roku przez Giovanniego Antoniniego w nagraniach haydnowskich jak zawsze w znakomitej formie, brzmi niezwykle dynamicznie i różnorodnie, z energią, która charakteryzuje tylko włoskie interpretacje.
Józef Haydn będąc przez niemal 30 lat kapelmistrzem orkiestry książąt Esterházych w Eisenstadt, miał do dyspozycji wybitnych instrumentalistów. Podobnie jest w Il Giardino Armonico. Cykl nagrań Haydna, powstający pod czujnym okiem Giovanniego Antoniniego, daje możliwość obcowania z jego dorobkiem w referencyjnym wykonaniu.

The fourth volume of the Haydn2032 project thrusts into the limelight one of the most important stock characters in the theatre of sounds and words, the Kapellmeister, and explores some glamorous and (in)glorious moments in the career of Maestro Haydn. It features three symphonies by the ‘Shakespeare of Music’ – one of which is even associated with an actual play. This bears the title ‘Sinfonia in C. per la commedia intitolata Il distratto’ (the name of the play soon became the symphony’s nickname) and consists of an overture, four entr’actes, and a finale to be played at the end of the performance. Also on this disc is a large-scale buffo scene by his colleague Cimarosa. Il maestro di cappella is a witty and ironic parody, in which a member of the ‘old school’ of musicians tries to improve the ensemble playing of his orchestra. To his chagrin, the players do react, but in extremely undisciplined fashion: they are distracted, make false entries and disagree musically...

Looking forward to the three hundredth anniversary of the birth of Haydn in 2032, the Joseph Haydn Stiftung Foundation of Basel has joined forces with the Alpha label to make a complete recording of the composer’s 107 symphonies. This ambitious project is placed under the artistic direction of Giovanni Antonini, who will share the recordings between his ensemble Il Giardino Armonico and the Basel Chamber Orchestra, which he conducts regularly. The aim is to celebrate one of the most significant and prolific composers in the history of music, who left us a rich oeuvre of more than three hundred works. Seeing the music of Haydn as ‘a kaleidoscope of the human emotions,’ Giovanni Antonini has decided to tackle the symphonies not in chronological order, but in thematically based programmes. Moreover, the Italian conductor believes it is important to establish links between these works and pieces written by other composers contemporary with Haydn of in some way connected with him. Hence, alongside his symphonies, each volume will include music by figures like Gluck, Porpora, CPE Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Michael Haydn. Beyond its status as a unique recording venture, Haydn 2032 will also bring together leading European concert halls, which will present these programmes to their audiences. From one season to another, the artists involved in the project will breathe new life into the music of this multifaceted composer for thousands of concertgoers in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy. The present release is the fourth installment in this illustrious series.
