To celebrate Zig-Zag Territoires' 10 years , we chose the concerti a quattro violin taken from the Estro Armonico of AntonioVivaldi.

Through the poetry, the refinement, the virutosity and natural of his style, Vivaldi knows how to stimulate imagination, and makes its audience ecstatic. Italy of 18th century was the theater of musical competitions between Roma, Venice or Napoli ; Corelli, Vivaldi or Porpora... With the Estro Armonico, Vivaldi imposes a view of the concerto form where the soloists express themselves individually or in front of the orchestra and captivates by his art : virtuosity of trance, narrative writting... and a simplicity which is related to popular music.

Among the pieces of this popular and prolix composer, Chiara Banchini - tireless discoverer - tries to choose original and rarely played pieces. The excellent Ensemble 415 - gathered from the Basel Schola Cantorum - focuses on this extraordinay form of the concerto at 4 violins. Chiara Banchini - the Corellian, the instigator ot the recordings of Valentini, Geminiani-Corelli 's concertos at Zig-Zag Territoires - , wanted to play these concerti a quattro of Vivaldi which are the most beautiful concerti a quattro according to her.
