Steffen Schleiermacher’s complete edition of the piano compositions of John Cage brought him numerous prizes and his international critical acclaim. One of the most important interpreters of contemporary music today, Schleiermacher now teams up with the superbly creative American Trombonist, Mike Svoboda.
It may be that Cage did not care much for the trombone. Of over 250 compositions only 3 were written for the instrument. Or it may have been that trombone fans did not come to him with open wallets - for Cage, like all composers, preferred paying customers!
