In one of Glossa's most important recordings of the early years, soprano Rossana Bertini and countertenor Claudio Cavina revisit some of the beautiful chamber duets by Agostino Steffani, the Italian composer, clergyman and diplomat who spent a large part of his life in Germany.
Supported by a varied continuo ensemble with Mara Galassi on the harp, Juan Manuel Quintana on the viola da gamba, Dolores Costoyas on the theorbo and Attilio Cremonesi on the harpsichord, the result is fascinating.
