Ależ ten czas pędzi. Ani się obejrzeliśmy, a tu minęło 40 lat współpracy Tona Koopmana, Klausa Mertensa i Tini Mathot.

O Tonie Koopmanie mówi się - mistrz, geniusz, niezrównany interpretator muzyki barokowej. Na pewno nikt nie rozumie muzyki Jana Sebastiana Bacha tak dobrze, jak ten holenderski wirtuoz organów i klawesynu. Wraz z założoną przez siebie w 1979 roku Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra w ciągu 10 lat nagrał wszystkie kantaty Bacha. Za to kolosalne dzieło został obsypany nagrodami, zdobywając m.in.: Nagrodę BBC, Prix Hector Berlioz czy nominację do nagrody Grammy. W tym roku obchodzi swoje 75. urodziny. Mija także 40 bardzo udanych lat z zespołem, który założył, czyli Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra.

Jego żona Tini Mathot, niezwykle utalentowana wirtuozka klawesynu i pianoforte, także odnosząca sukcesy, jako producentka wielu nagrań wydawanych przez szanowane oficyny, świętuje w 2019 roku swoje 70. urodziny.

Śpiewający basem i barytonem Klaus Mertens, z którym Ton Koopman nagrał wszystkie znane kantaty Bacha jest niezwykle wszechstronnym śpiewakiem. W jego repertuarze znajdziemy zarówno dzieła Monteverdiego jak i współczesnych kompozytorów. W 2019 roku otrzymał "Medal Bacha", przyznawany przez władze miasta Lipsk. W laudacji określono Mertensa, jako „idealnego interpretator kantat i tekstów pasyjnych Bacha”.

Jakby nie było to wystarczające powody do świętowania jubileuszu, stwórzcie tych trzech muzyków w jedną całość, ponieważ oni również świętują 40 lat wspólnego muzykowania, zarówno koncertowego jak i studyjnego. Oto przed Państwem płyta jubileuszowa, jakiej dotąd nie było.

2019 – An Anniversary Year. For three exceptional musicians 2019 brings cause for great joy and gratitude for several reasons. Ton Koopman, internationally renowned as a harpsichordist, organist, conductor, professor and musicologist, celebrates his 75th birthday. He also looks back on 40 highly successful years with the ensemble he founded, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra.

His wife, Tini Mathot, an outstandingly gifted harpsichord and fortepiano virtuoso as well as a very successful producer of countless international CDs, celebrates her 70th birthday.

Klaus Mertens, acclaimed for over four decades as an international concert singer with an admirably wide repertoire stretching from Monteverdi to contemporary composers, also celebrates his 70th birthday. “As the ideal conveyor of Bach’s cantatas and passion texts…” he also receives the Bach-Medaille of the city of Leipzig in 2019.

As if this were not sufficient cause to celebrate an anniversary, these three musicians cap it all by looking back on 40 years of successful and amicable music-making together in concerts and recording studios by presenting an anniversary CD as well as several chamber concerts.
