Inger Marie Gundersen to pochodząca z Norwegii wokalistka, która w trakcie swojej kariery koncertowała i współpracowała z wieloma doskonałymi norweskimi muzykami jazzowymi. Na jej płytowy, autorski debiut przyszło nam jednak czekać długi czas - pierwszą, znakomicie przyjęta przez krytyków i publiczność płyta "Make This Moment" wydała będąc już gruba po czterdziestce. Od pierwszej płyty bardzo chętnie sięgała po standardy - ale te nie czysto jazzowe. Tak jest i na najnwszej płycie, znakomitym albumie "For You" nagranym w doborowym skandynawskim towarzystwie: Ulf Wakenius, Lars Jansson, Jesper Bodilsen, Morten Lund i Rasmus Solem to najważniejsi muzycy grający u boku Inger Marie na ostatnim jej albumie.
Otwiera go wielki przebój norweskiego zespołu A-HA z połowy lat osiemdziesiątych ubiegłego wieku - "Take On Me", ale pojawiają się tu również piosenki z repertuaru Dolly Parton ("I will Always Love You"), Eddie Harris ("You Stole My Heart") czy skandynawski standard "What It Means To Me".
Inger Marie Gundersen nigdy nie ucieka się do prostych środków - jej niski głos wsparty znakomitymi aranżacjami tworzy sugestywny, niesamowity klimat i z każdej jednej, choćby i dyskotekowej piosenki potrafi wycisnąć głęboką, namiętną balladę. Znakomity album!

Inger Marie nie występuje w telewizji, nie nagrywa wideoklipów, nie ma przebojów, a jest uwielbiana przez licznych słuchaczy nie tylko w rodzinnej Norwegii, ale w całej Skandynawii. Przez lata była pilnie strzeżonym sekretem, jej płyty nie miały dystrybucji za granicą.
My poznaliśmy Inger Marie Gundersen w 2006 r. na festiwalu Ladies’ Jazz w Gdyni. Dwa lata później zaśpiewała we Wrocławiu. Każdy jej album przynosi urokliwe piosenki najlepiej przyswajane w intymnej atmosferze domowego zacisza, przy kominku, grzejniku, pod kocem, kiedy za oknem trzaskający mróz.
Wskazane świece lub słuchanie z przymkniętymi oczami. Wtedy z rozkoszą wchodzimy w krainę łagodności kreowaną przez zmysłowy śpiew Inger Marie Gundersen z odrobiną chrypki. W tej dziedzinie mogłaby konkurować z najmilszymi dla ucha głosami Diany Krall i Norah Jones.
Otoczona jak zawsze znakomitymi jazzmanami sama zasłuchuje się w ich solówkach. Od kilku lat współpracuje ze szwedzkim gitarzystą Ulfem Wakeniusem. Drugi Szwed Lars Jansson zasiadł przy fortepianie, a Duńczycy Jesper Bodilsen i Morten Lund utworzyli sekcję rytmiczną. Solówki trębacza Per Willy Aaseruda lekko drapią w uszy, sama rozkosz. W repertuarze popowe przeboje: "Take On Me" A-ha, "I Will Always Love You" Dolly Parton i świetne jazzowe ballady.

Inger Marie frst worked with the Swedish guitarist Ulf Wakenius on BY MYSELF from 2006. Te collaboration was inspiring for both of them and led to many concerts all over the world.
Inger Marie's next release, MY HEART WOULD HAVE A REASON, was produced by another great Swedish guitarist, Georg Wadenius. But on her new album, FOR YOU, Ulf and Inger Marie join forces once again.
Tis time with a Scandinavian dream team featuring another Swede, Lars Jansson, on piano, and two Danes, bassist Jesper Bodilsen and drummer Morten Lund - as well as the wonderful trumpeting of Norwegian Per Willy Aaserud on several tracks. Inger Marie and her band of outstanding musicians make this album an aesthetic delight.
Inger Marie lives in Arendal in southern Norway, where the houses sprawl over the mountainside down to the bay. This atmosphere and these surroundings inspire the vocalist's heartfelt interpretations in a selection of well-known and lesser-known, carefully chosen songs.
This album includes a version of the perhaps most successful song ever from a Norwegian pop group, AHA's "Take On Me". However, if you don't happen to know the lyrics, you may not recognize it, because Inger Marie makes every song her own. Her style is relaxed, and her phrasing is carved in stone. She has her own sound, and she compiles her repertoire with a broader scope than the traditional American Songbook.
In her native Norway, Inger Marie is a well-kept secret, and the road to her large audience in the rest of the world was paved by mouth to ear. No single hit, spectacular video, fashy outft or strange behavior has made her art famous. In May 2011, in Lars Nilsson's Nilento Studio outside Gothenburg, Inger Marie and her fve Scandinavian musicians met with producer Rasmus Solem and created magical moments. Now the rest of us can share the experience. Inger Marie doesn't seek fashy musicality, she seeks depth, and she fnds it in this quintet of musicians, who despite their virtuosic qualities never play a superfuous note. Teir splendid musicianship allows room for refection. Tis is the sound of the mountains of Arendal!
