Stworzył muzykę do cieszącego się dużą popularnością (1997 - 1998) 'Strisser pl Samsr'. Natomiast w 1991 roku zdobył duńską nagrodę o imieniu Robert w kategorii muzyka filmowa (do filmu 'Springflod'). Współpracował również z wieloma duńskimi teatrami np. Ĺrhus Teater, Det Ny Teater, czy Teatr Narodowy, jak również odcisnął swoje piętno na znaczących przedstawieniach: 'Esther', 'West Side Story', 'Grease', 'Chess', ' Atlantis', 'Fame', 'A Midsummer-Night's Dream' w Teatrze Ludowym. Hrstrup to mistrz w kreowaniu nastroju i tworzeniu chwytliwych brazylijskich melodii, z których każda ma potencję letniego przeboju. Najnowszą płytę 'So gentle' wypełnia klimatyczny jazz, z niezaprzeczalnym nordyckim urokiem, elegancką atmosferą i przestrzenią kojarzącą sią z radosnym stanem wewnętrznego rechotu. Jak wyjęte spod pióra Antonio Carlosa Jobima delikatne brazylijskie bossa novy czy ludowe szwedzkie piosenki w interpretacji pianisty Jana Johanssona. Dziesięć utworów instrumentalnych o tak miłym klimacie i szerokiej tematyce. Poza Fini Hrstrupem na fortepianie, skład zespołu to basista Kasper Vadsholt, perkusista Tom H. Jensen oraz genialny gitarzysta Per Gade. Fini Hrstrup wydał do tej pory dwie płyty dla Stunt Records. 'Boomerang' z 1997 roku oraz 'Stories' z 2000. Fini Hřstrup (born 1949) is still a well-kept secret to many Danish music lovers. Maybe because he has been the man behind, rather than on, the stage. And no wonder, for most of Hřstrup's musical life has been led in the world of theatre, television and film productions. He has written the music for the Danish tv success from 1997-1998, 'Strisser pĺ Samsř', and in 1991 he won the greatest Danish film award - a Robert - in the category 'best film music' for the film 'Springflod'. Hřstrup has worked for a number of Danish theatres, e.g. Ĺrhus Teater, Det Ny Teater and the Royal Theatre, and he has been involved in such productions as 'Esther', 'West Side Story', 'Grease', 'Chess', 'Atlantis', 'Fame' and this summer's 'A Midsummer-Night's Dream' at Folketeatret.
Hřstrup is a master at evoking an ambiance and writing catchy melodies with song-like qualities. On his new cd, 'So Gentle', he and his fine band ask the listener in with intimate chamber jazz, unmistakably Nordic and with a light, elegant atmosphere that cannot but bring about intimacy and an inner joy. Just like the Brazilian bossa nova maestro Carlos Jobim's delicate melodies, or pianist Jan Johansson's interpretations of traditional Swedish songs. Ten instrumental tunes that come out as simple and relevant statements.
Apart from Fini Hřstrup himself on piano, the band consists of bass player Kasper Vadsholt, drummer Tom H. Jensen and the brilliant guitarist Per Gade.
Fini Hřstrup has already released the records 'Boomerang' (1997) and 'Stories' (2000) on Stunt Records. Now he is ready with this wonderful cd, which will win the hearts of all romantic souls who love music with good melodies and elegant swing.
